After 8 Developer betas and 6 Public betas, Apple finally released the stable build of iOS 16. The majority of the time, the RC (Release Candidate) build is redistributed as the final version if there are no bugs discovered. The build number of the most current stable build, 20A362, is the same as the build number of the iOS 16 RC build that was released a week ago. Due to iOS 16’s lengthy beta testing period—nearly 2 months—we are well-versed in the operating system’s newly added features. The new Lock Screen with Widgets, the ability to edit and unsend iMessages, an enhanced weather app, and dictation with automated punctuation are just a few of the many additions that have been introduced with this major OS update.
Your iPhone will automatically receive the update if you are running the stable version of iOS. Check for updates by going to the Settings menu, then General, and finally Software Update. If you are currently using the beta version of iOS 16, you will need to remove the beta profile prior installing the stable version of iOS 16. Since iOS 16 RC is functionally identical to stable iOS 16, users on that version will not receive the update.
