Method 1: Stop running Code Vein in Big Picture Mode

This solution is only for Steam users as Steam has a feature known as Big Picture Mode. This feature is developed for playing games on a TV. However, Windows users can enjoy this feature too. When it is enabled, Steam will display a different full-screen user interface. If you normally play the game in Big Picture Mode, try playing it in normal mode and see if it’s working.

Method 2: Delete pre-loaded games from Steam

Pre-loaded games are the ones that you can download before their official release date. Some affected users have stated that deleting pre-loaded games from Steam has fixed the crashing and freezing issue in Code Vein. If you’ve downloaded any preloaded games on Steam, delete them and check if it brings any changes.

Method 3: Run Code Vein in Borderless Windowed Mode

The Borderless Windowed Mode is a kind of Windowed Mode. This mode will fit the maximized window to the screen such that it looks like you’re playing the game in full-screen mode. If the game is crashing or freezing, try playing it in Borderless Windowed Mode. Before playing, check if this mode is available in Code Vein. Certain third-party software will allow you to play games or run apps in Borderless Windowed Mode. You’ll be able to search for such software and then install them on your system.

Method 4: Verify the integrity of game files

Open the Steam Client Head over to Library Select Code Vein Click on the Settings icon on the right side and then select Properties Choose Local Files and then click on Verify Integrity of Game Files
