Android 13 Beta 4.1 arrived Monday for all other phones to resolve bugs and should be one of the final versions before the commercial rollout of Android 13. Today’s update adds “.A2” to Pixel 6a’s build number. Pixel 6a software remains odd. The phone’s launch patch level was April 2022. A fresh update trickling out to carriers only updates the phone to June’s patch level. The Android 13 beta reportedly includes July updates.

Pixel 6a owners can get a taste of Android 13 a little early, while the rest of us wait for it to be released. The little reports that I’ve seen suggest that there will be significant improvements in performance over the existing stable version of Android 12. But despite this, I would strongly advise users not to install the beta version of the update on their primary device because it may still contain bugs that make it difficult to carry out routine tasks.
